Helical Spring Coupling

The spiral spring coupling can buffer vibration and compensate displacement to ensure smooth transmission.

Structure composition :

It is mainly composed of two half Couplings, cylindrical pins, fan-shaped blocks and spiral springs. The flanges of the two half couplings have the same number of cylindrical pins, and the cylindrical pins are equipped with fan-shaped blocks with cylindrical parts. The two ends of the spiral spring are respectively sleeved on the cylindrical surface of the fan-shaped blocks and pressed between the two adjacent fan-shaped blocks.

Working principle :

When the coupling rotates in one direction, half of the coil spring is compressed to transmit torque. When it rotates in the reverse direction, the other half of the coil spring is forced to transmit torque, thereby realizing power transmission.

Performance characteristics :

Good elasticity: can absorb vibration and impact, reduce noise and vibration during equipment operation, protect connected equipment, and extend equipment service life :

Large displacement compensation capability: It can compensate for radial displacement, axial displacement and angular displacement between the two shafts, of which the radial displacement can reach 0.01D (D is the outer diameter of the coupling), the axial displacement is 0.05D, the angular displacement is 2°, and the torsion angle is 5°. It can adapt to installation errors within a certain range and dynamic deformation of the shaft system.

Reversibility: Suitable for transmission systems that require forward and reverse rotation. The clockwise and counterclockwise rotation characteristics are exactly the same. When reversing, the other half of the spring can transmit torque normally to ensure the stability and reliability of the transmission.

Multiple fixing methods: There are two common methods: clamping and screw fastening. You can choose the appropriate fixing method according to different application scenarios and installation requirements, which is convenient for installation.

Material selection :

Generally, it is made of metal materials, such as aluminum alloy, stainless steel, etc. Aluminum alloy is light in weight, has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, and is suitable for some occasions that require weight; stainless steel has higher strength and corrosion resistance, and can be used in harsh working environments.

Application areas :

It is widely used in various mechanical transmission systems, especially suitable for transmission with impact load and reversal, such as the connection of stepper motors, lead screws and other equipment, and plays an important role in automated production lines, machine tools, robots and other fields.
